Our commitment
GravelGenie aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Accessibility is not a one-time checkbox for us — we build it into every page and calculator, and we treat a barrier as a bug worth fixing.
What we do
Concrete steps that make the site work for more people:
- Keyboard support. Every calculator input, link and control is reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring on each element.
- Readable contrast. Text and interface colours are chosen to meet AA contrast in both the light and dark themes.
- Reduced motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, our entrance and count-up animations are turned off automatically.
- Labelled controls. Form fields have real, associated labels, and results are announced to screen readers as they update.
- Semantic structure. One clear heading per page, logical heading order, and proper landmarks for navigation, main content and footer.
- Works without a mouse or JavaScript-heavy UI. Core content is in the page HTML, and the calculators are simple, standard form controls.
Known limitations
We are honest about the gaps. The live calculator result requires JavaScript to update; with scripts disabled you still get a worked example and the full method in the page text, but not an interactive result. Some third-party embeds of our widget on other sites are outside our control. If you hit either, the guides cover the same numbers in plain text.
